The most famous Russian chamber orchestra, the «Moscow Virtuosi» celebrated their 35th anniversary in 2014. Every year the orchestra gives over 100 concerts all over the world. In recent years the ensemble has performed with such outstanding musicians as Denis Matsuev, Vadim Repin, Pinchas Zukerman, Maxim Vengerov, Julian Rachin, Mischa Maisky, Michel Legrand, and many others.

A truly European manner of ensemble performance, concern for tiny details and nuances, solicitous and creative interpretation of author’s concepts, bright artistic talent and love both for the pieces performed and for the audience make the “Moscow Virtuosi” so different from many other chamber orchestras.

According to the press, it is “a marvelous ensemble that possesses both accuracy of intonation and phrasing, fervent temper and amazingly good skill of performance” (Wiener Zeitung); “like Swiss watch, this outstanding music ensemble is an example of accuracy and daintiness. Each musician is a part of a single whole” (Los Angeles Times); “for Vladimir Spivakov, conducting the Moscow Virtuosi must be like driving a high-end sports car” (The New York Times).

The founder and artistic director of the orchestra, virtuoso violinist and renowned conductor, Vladimir Spivakov is regularly invited to perform with the best orchestras. In 1994 he founded his International Charity Foundation for talented children, since 2003 he has been artistic director and principal conductor of the National Philharmonic of Russia and president of the International Performing Arts Centre. Since 1989 Vladimir Spivakov has been artistic director of the International Colmar Music Festival (France). His contribution to music and culture, as well as his humanitarian and charity activity, has been rewarded by manifold awards and titles all over the world.

The concert is supported by the Government of Moscow and “Russian Seasons” company.
