VISION SYSTEMS UNVEILS ITS LATEST ELECTRONICALLY DIMMABLE WINDOWS’ INNOVATIONS AND EMBEDDED ENTERTAINMENT & MONITORING SYSTEM AT METS TRADE SHOW, 17-19 NOVEMBER, AMSTERDAM, STAND 10.523
As a world leader in Electronically Dimmable Windows, Vision Systems is an innovative and competitive challenger in the boat industry with the development of customized superior solar protection solutions. Vision Systems gained three major customer references in the marine market since last year.
Vision Systems’ Electronically Dimmable Windows dim from clear to dark to regulate the amount of light, glare and heat entering the boat while preserving the view. They offer enhanced comfort and luxury interior design. These solutions allow an instant and precise control from a touch panel, a personal tablet or automatically with light sensors.
Vision Systems’ dimmable windows are developed in-house through a specific process of lamination integrating an SPD (Suspended Particle Device) layer. They provide more thermal comfort and lower cooling costs as dark when unpowered, and also allow complete privacy by turning dark, opaque white or by integrating a specific coating. These solutions are suitable for retrofit or new constructions, glass or thermoplastic, flat or curved windows. Furthermore, they are easy to install and to maintain as all the electronics is integrated.
Vision systems’ know-how in kinematics, hydraulic systems, electronics and composite enables the company to offer complete customized systems including attachment, seal and support, frame in composite or stainless steel, opening mechanisms, and safety devices. Vision Systems’ services also include measurement and installation.
Winner of the DAME Award 2012 with the first generation of Electronically Dimmable Windows, Vision Systems will participate in the competition this year with a dimmable sunvisor dedicated to the wheelhouse, Opti-Visor. Opti-Visor is a self-powered dimmable sunvisor with transparent photovoltaic cells incorporated into a thin, light and very resistant composite glass offering excellent optical quality. This sunvisor can be controlled either with buttons directly on the glazing, on a control panel, or automatically with an integrated light sensor.
Vision Systems will also present its embedded entertainment and monitoring system. It offers cabin comfort management, navigation monitoring, entertainment & connectivity in one single system.
Shades, dimmable windows, powered windows, lights or temperature can easily be controlled through a centralized screen or a tablet and specific areas can be managed in the yacht. Navigation data monitoring gives information through communication network NMEA 2000. Multimedia entertainment includes AVOD (films, music, newspapers…) as well as connectivity over 3G/4G/Wi-Fi near the coast and satellite connection in the open sea.
“The challenge we took in 2012 to play in the marine marketplace is now bearing fruit and we feel that our high-end innovative solutions are now at the right place at the right time for the yacht market”, stated David Le Berre, Managing Director of Vision Systems Automotive holding the Marine activity.
